Installation

Backup your database.

  1. DO-> Install The Plugin

    2. How To -> From your WP admin panel go to Plugins → Add New
    Enter the plugin’s name “BungeeBones” in the search input (but without the quotes)
    Click “Install” link over in far right of plugin listing row
    Click “Activate”

  2. Do-> Create A Page For Your New BungeeBones Web Directory To Reside

    3. How To -> Click Pages → Add New (in the left menu of the WP admin)
    Name it whatever you like (something like Link Exchange, Web Directory, BungeeBones, Show Me BungeeBones, Links etc)

  3. Do-> Somewhere on the page type this

    Note: You can place your own text above or below that shortcode tag.
  4. Do-> Write down the page number.

    5. How To -> You will need the WordPress page number (not the name) of the page you just created to configure the BungeeBones plugin properly. . The easiest ways to find  the number is by going to the WP Pages control panel.

    Click Pages and the “Edit Pages” control panel page opens up. Now mouseover the page name of the one you just created (and that you added the shorttag to). You should be able to see the link information at the bottom left of your browser window (see the sceenshot below) and it will have something like this – http://wwwbungeebones.com/blog/wp-admin/page.php?post=276&action=edit -

    where to find WordPress page id number

    IT IS THE NUMBER AFTER POST THAT IS YOUR PAGE ID NUMBER (276 in this example).

    Write your page number down, we’ll us it in a few minutes.


  5. D0-> Register, Login, Add Your Link, Get Your BungeeBones Link ID Number From BungeeBones.com

    6. How To ->Go to www.BungeeBones.com/register and err… register.

    After email verification, login and …

  6. Do-> Enter Your Website And Get Your BungeeBones Link Id Number (yes – another number completely different number than your WordPress page ID)

    7. How To -> Real Easy!

    After adding your link info BungeeBones will tell you what your new link ID number is. Write it down also, we will need it in just a minute.

    What? You have a link but don’t have its ID? Just mouseover the furthest right button of any link in your User Control Panel and the link id will be in the url displayed in the lower left of your browser window.

    NOTE: We now have the Link ID displaying in the 1st column


  7. Do-> Return to your BungeeBones User Control Panel. Click the “Add A Widget” or “Manage” button to the right of your new link listing (it will display “Add A Widget” if this is first time or “Manage” if the config was already attempted then the two input boxes for the directory (or folder) name and file will appear.

    8. How To ->On the options page that opens scroll down to section titled “The WordPress Version” for detailed and graphic configuration instructions.
