BungeeBones Remotely Hosted Web Directory
Introduction:
A remotely hosted BungeeBones web directory program is a great addition for your web site that delivers a fully populated (with links and categories) web directory for your site visitors enjoyment. Because it is hosted on the BungeeBones server you are relieved of much of the work to building and maintaining the directory such as reviewing new link submittals, checking for dead links etc. Any users that add their link through your install are added to all the other installations as well so one link submittal results in their link being placed in an ever expanding number of directories.
This Joomla 1.5 component is simple to install but that process will result in only partial (and inadequate) functionality that must be followed up with registration at BungeeBones.com for a unique ID number and configuration in order to complete the installation. All of that is completely free. The main purpose of this component is to encourage joomla developers to implement a community based website promotion and traffic improvement system.

1.) Download Component From BungeeBones
http://bungeebones.com/downloads/joomla/com_bungeebones.zip
2) Log In Your Joomla Site As Administrator
Extensions->”Install/Uninstall”
3) Press the “Browse” button and find your downloaded file com_bungeebones.zip on your computer.
Install component by pressing “Upload File & Install“button.
4) Test Administration Module
5) Make Menu For Our New Component>
Menus -> Main Menu -> New -Hello BungeeBones(double click) ->Name: Show Me BungeeBones!
6) Let's See The New Component
Go to your joomla website and click on Show me BungeeBones!link in Main Menu

7) Register
You will need to register at BungeeBones.com in order for the links to work properly. It is a simple process where you
- Register as a user
- Add your link to the web directory (free)
- Enter the page name where your new component is displayed
- Receive your unique ID number for one last, small configuration setting
Please note that the exact page name as it appears after the slash at the end of the domain name will need to be used to register the component and for it to work properly. For example, in the case of the component on the actual BungeeBones domain, the url to the directory is http://bungeebones.com/show-me-bungeebones so the file name would be "show-me-bungeebones".
8) Final Configuration
Now you need to open up one of the component files you installed. With a file editor, open the file at your-domain.com/components/com_bungeebones/bungeebones.php
In it, at around line 16, you will see the following code...
$affiliate_num = 2523 ;//This affiliate number must be replaced with your own account number. Get one free at www.bungeebones.com
Simply enter the link ID number you received when you registered in place of "2523" above and the directory should now work fine.and that concludes the installation.
