What is a "link exchange"?

While the BungeeBones hosted web directory does operate as a link exchange in some ways it is tremendously different in others.

By studying the articles under "link exchange" in the "Key Concepts" block (in the left menu)  you will gather some fundamental understanding (mostly from WikiPedia) of the benefits (and the limits)  of link exchange.
