Revenue Sharing
The launch of BungeeBones as a remotely hosted web directory has the largest effect of its use in the area of revenue sharing and compensation to the webmasters that host its remote directories. The BungeeBones business model is very, very similar to the Pay per Click model.
Both PPC and BungeeBones are "middlemen" hoping to connect two webmasters in an exchange of web traffic. Both share the revenue from the sale of the traffic with the source of the traffic. But while PPC is by far the most used advertising model on the web BungeeBones departs from it here for the benefit of the webmaster community as follows.
If you place a PPC ad on your site and a person (a surfer) comes and clicks on the link then you receive a payment, correct? Now suppose that customer becomes a lifelong customer of the company of that link do you ever get any more payment? The answer, for the most part, is, no, you do not. In the BungeeBones system we do continue to pay you because that customer becomes our customer. Now suppose that the person that clicks on the PPC link becomes so impressed with the PPC system and signs up as a PPC advertiser themselves do you get any additional payment? Again, the answer is no. While, in the above scenario, two companies each received lifelong customers you only got a small onetime crumb for putting those deals together. If the advertising customer you sell becomes a BungeeBones sales point, however, you get an override on their sales in addition to the lifelong commissions on their advertising payments. The BungeeBones compensation model is, by far, a better plan for the webmaster.
One reason BungeeBones can be different is because of the difference between Pay Per CLICK and our Pay Per ACTION model. While a click on a link from your site doesn't even guarantee a sale never mind a life-long customer an "action" (i.e. becoming a BungeeBones paid link customer) is guaranteed for at least as long as they decide to continue to purchase. That is why we can commit to pay you for as long as they purchase.
And then, once we have them as a customer we can be confident that they would seriously consider being a sales point as well right? So then considering how important it is for BungeeBones to get its "foot in the door" it seems the reasonable approach to reward the websites that do that for us.
